Registration opens on Monday 23rd October 2017 at 9am Eastern Caribbean Time

 

Competition categories:

  

1. Chefs and stewardess/stewards on yachts 160ft and over Judged on Tuesday 5th December 2017

2. Chefs and stewardess/stewards on yachts 126ft to 159ft Judged on Wednesday 6th December 2017

3. Chefs and stewardess/stewards on yachts 125ft and under Judged on Thursday 7th December 2017

TWO GREAT COMPETITIONS IN ONE …

 

THE CULINARY CONTEST AND THE TABLESCAPING CONTEST

For the Chefs: A Caribbean Sunday "funday" Brunch

Create a Caribbean Sunday Brunch to serve to your charter guests with a menu suitable for adults and children, including a baked goods basket of no more than three different offerings, savory and sweet.
Feature Caribbean ingredients in your menus.

Serve your special charter guests a Caribbean Sunday Brunch Menu of your choice showcasing three elements, savory, sweet and up to 3 different baked goods, characterizing your skills and diversity.

The Competition will be held onboard your yacht, the choice is yours of where you serve your Caribbean Sunday Brunch with baked goods basket.

Registration opens at 9am Eastern Caribbean Time (GMT 2pm and EST 8am) on Monday 23rd October 2017.

Register as early as posssible after 9am as ONLY THE FIRST 10 REGISTRANTS IN EACH OF THE THREE CATEFORIES WILL GAIN ENTRY

Chefs must make the registration themselves, unless they have given explicit instructions to their Management Company

Chefs Culinary Contest Criteria:

Read the information on the website and confirm by email that you have understood the format of the competition.  Email sarah@antiguayachtshow.com

Show your culinary talents in preparing a Caribbean Sunday Brunch and baked goods basket

Attend the mandatory Chefs Competition Briefing at the ACYM Hospitality Area, upstairs in the Officers Quarters, Nelson's Dockyard on Monday 4th December at 3.30pm, where you will be given the exact time the judges will come aboard.  Judges will be onboard for 30 minutes 

Prepare enough food to provide 5 taster portions of each dish for the judges to taste and one full size plated portion for photography

Provide 6 copies of your menu, one for each judge and one for the coordinator

All food preparation is to be done by the Chef onboard the yacht, a helper may assist in plating and serving

Your Caribbean Brunch may be served in the location of your choice; dinning saloon, the aft deck, the sun deck or saloon, buffet style or plated

Judging Criteria: Originality/Creativity - Taste/Flavour - Presentation - Execution Craft/Technique - Overall Impression - use of Caribbean ingredients

NOTE: if you are serving a Brokers lunch the day of your competition, please let us know if you would like to be judged before or after the luncheon

 

For the Steward/Stewardesses: Tablescaping Competition 2017 -
Theme:  "The Caribbean Sea"

Pick a table style of decoration that shows the colours and diversity of the Caribbean Sea

Stewardess/Steward prepare and decorate your table with the Caribbean Sea theme

Briefing time: Monday 4th December at 3.30pm, location: the ACYM Hospitality Area Nelson's Dockyard, same location as the Chefs Briefing

The Tablescaping display must be ready for Judging at the assigned time which will be given to you at the Mandatory Briefing

Judging criteria will include: originality/creativity, style going with the theme and suitability to your Chefs Menu

 

Prize giving ceremony and champagne reception:

Awards ceremony: Friday 8th December 5.30pm at The Admirals Inn, Nelson's Dockyard for all yachts that have entered the competition and please bring along the whole crew for support!

A Winner and 2 runners up will be chosen from each category for the Caribbean Sunday Brunch competition

A Winner will be chosen from each category for the Caribbean Sea Themed Tablescaping Contest

 

All participating Chefs, Stewardesses, Stewards, Captains and Crews, Yacht Charter Brokers/Managers, and Press are invited to attend
