accommodation / transport / the show / news

We recently learnt that West Indies cricket (2023 home series) is due to take place in Antigua from 3-6 December, which gives us even more reason to strongly urge all those registered / planning to register for the Antigua Charter Yacht Show 2023 to book your flights and accommodation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

Antigua is such a beautiful island and the show is fantastic so you’re sure to have an amazing time wherever you stay, but coming back to lovely accommodation at the end of each day would be the icing on the cake.

To make searching for the perfect place a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite hotels that are conveniently located for the show. Ranging in style from beautifully historic to modern luxury, we highly recommend the following accommodation…

Admiral’s Inn

Admiral’s Inn is located within the walls of the historic Nelson’s Dockyard at English Harbour, so if you opt to stay here, everything really will be right on your doorstep! It has its own waterfront areas and courtyard, which can be enjoyed in the mornings or evenings or whenever you have a bit of downtime. The Inn has two restaurants to choose from, a spectacular infinity edged pool with sunbeds and hammocks, lush gardens, a spa and a small beach.

There are 19 standard/superior rooms and 14 suites, each with a private bathroom and shower. The rooms vary in size and character according to their location in the old brick building. Rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans, some with a view of the harbour and others have a small patio with a garden or courtyard view.

There is also a lovely three bedroom apartment, the Joiners Loft, which has a kitchen and spacious living area just adjacent to the main compound - ideal if you’re travelling as a family or with a few friends.

Catamaran Hotel

The Catamaran Hotel  is an 8-minute drive or 42-minute walk from Nelson’s Dockyard, making it close by and convenient for the show. The friendly and charming hotel dates back to 1968 and is owned and managed by one of the island's premier yachting families 'The Baileys'. Nestled between palm trees and tropical flowers, the rooms open up directly onto a small intimate beach, with a sunbathing deck and swimming pool.

Comprising 14 air-conditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms, kitchenette, cable television, telephones and wi-fi, the hotel is ideal for couples, families and independent travellers alike. Balcony views extend straight out across the beach and beach access is available directly outside each room. The hotel’s Captain’s Quarters Restaurant & Bar offers both formal and informal alfresco dining and jaw-dropping views of Falmouth Bay.

Copper and Lumber Store Hotel

The Copper and Lumber Store Hotel is located within Nelson’s Dockyard so you’ll be right in the thick of it! Experience another age when you step inside this beautifully restored 18th-century building. It’s an intimate, boutique hotel where the laid back culture and charm of the Caribbean melds with the colonial history of Antigua, creating a truly unique setting.

The hotel offers four room types - Contemporary Studios, Contemporary Suites, Georgian Studios and Georgian Suites so there’s something to suit every taste. The Mainbrace Restaurant & Pub offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the doors open out onto an amazing view of the Georgian Dockyard Marina. Friday is seafood night and if you’re after a quick bite on the go, the pub is ideal.

International flights and transfers

There are many choices of airline and we’ve selected a few of the most popular ones if you’re travelling from the UK, USA or Canada. Check out the Transport page on our website and follow the links to get some quotes.

When deciding which flights to book, be sure to consider your arrival and departure dates - do you wish to arrive a few days before or stay a few days after the show to make the most of your visit to Antigua? And consider your travel times too, like whether you mind a really early start or if you're happy to travel overnight for example.

You can also Google “flights to Antigua” and search for flights that way if you prefer or if you’re travelling from elsewhere. And don’t forget your travel insurance to ensure you're covered should any issues arise!

You’ll also need to plan how you’ll get from the airport to your accommodation. We’ve listed some car hire companies on the Transport page if that’s your preference, or you can simply book a taxi transfer using a company such as Hoppa or Holiday Extras or similar.
